Psalm 68:5-6

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

Zhen and the racoon

Zhen has been afraid of stuffed animals for as long as I have known him. We are working on this! I know this looks a little mean, but of course I didn't get the camera out soon enough...

He was so curious and he really wanted to play. We were practicing giving the racoon high fives and he would crack up every time...and then cry for a second...and then do it again!! What an awesome kid. I love to watch him open up and try new things. Even if I have to push him a little bit.

  1. He is absolutely adorable! I have to do very similar things with my son so I understand :-) So cute!

  2. So precious- you can see him trying to overcome his anxiety! Exposure and lots of it will help him get over his fear- try leaving stuffed animals everywhere he plays, have them join him at the table, have them observe his bath:) Avoid engaging in any pretend "fighting" with them, although most little guys love it. With time he will see that they are harmless and fun.

  3. I second the above reccomendation to avoid any type of pretend "fighting", "gonna get you", "tickle you" type play with the stuffed animals. For now, let him have them become part of his world in a slow non-threatening way. Eating next to him at the table, taking a "bath" in an empty babytub while he is in the real tub, combing their hair while you comb his, etc.
