Psalm 68:5-6

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

I am Stepanie Nance. My family adopted two little boys with Down Syndrome from Ukraine in 2010. I hope to educate and to inspire you. I hope to make you laugh and to make you cry.

Come along for the ride. It's a wild one!

Update on Carrington

Sarah has an update on Carrington HERE.

Carrington is very fragile right now. It's a complete miracle that she made it home alive.

Carrington in February 2010. Note the layered, fluffy pajamas. :(

Reintroducing proper nutrition to a child in her condition can be very dangerous. Her blood chemistry is likely out of whack. Please pray that her body responds to treatment.

This is why I will not stop screaming and begging for you to pay attention to this orphan crisis. It's a continuous emergency. I will not rest...

  1. I will be right there screaming with you. Let's do whatever we can to get these kids home!

  2. It still brings me to tears to see her fragile body. This is not something that can be ignored! I am sure that, like Theo, pictures don't do Carrington's situation justice. I am praying we see pics of Carrington with a smile on her face, chubbies, and food in her hair in 6 months too. :)

  3. Thank you for posting...sweet Carrington is softening so many hearts already and planting so many seeds. I just want to shout from the rooftops about the mistreatment of these children, but I think simply looking at that picture is going to speak to more hearts than we could ever reach with words.
