OK, I've heard from enough people that want to help so here it is:
I know from experience how difficult it can be to care for a family while running back and forth from the hospital. And I know how hard it can be to ask for help after being on the receiving end for a time.
If you have any other specific ideas to help Carrington's family, please share them with me in the comment section. I'm open to suggestions!

PRAYER ;) Ok, so that's a given... What about laundry, or house cleaning? If you're taking your kids to the zoo, take hers too. Car maintenance. Gas gift cards!! Offer to sit with Carrington for a couple of hours so they can go have dinner with their family (and bring a gift card for the dinner, too!) Help the kids with home work. Yard work. Pet sitting. Give the regular caregiver a break and watch the kids. Bring movies up to the hospital so they can watch movies while they are up there (You could make a movie gift basket for cheap and easy with movie box candy, popcorn, soda bottles, etc, too). Take a game basket with a deck of cards, Phase 10, Rook, sudoku/crossword books etc., to the hospital for them to play. Cookie/candy/fruit bouquets. Send a gift for Carrington of hair bows/hats/headbands and pretty socks. It's hard enough to see your baby in the hospital gown but putting pretties on her might cheer her parents up a little (I thought of Chrissie Patterson and her pretties they put on her).
ReplyDeleteHas anyone considered starting a volunteer list to send food to the family at home? Or another list to send small gifts to the kids weekly so they have something to look forward to? We all know it doesn't have to be extravagant--a simple card and $1 store toy would do.
That's all I can think of for now. Let me know if there is anything I can be a part of from so far away.
I know their favorite restaurant is Spring Creek and they shop at Kroger mostly. Hope that helps. This is great!!
