Psalm 68:5-6

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

I am Stepanie Nance. My family adopted two little boys with Down Syndrome from Ukraine in 2010. I hope to educate and to inspire you. I hope to make you laugh and to make you cry.

Come along for the ride. It's a wild one!

Carrington says "Hello!"

Carrington says "Hello!"

"Thank you for praying for me. I'm much more comfortable and relaxed today than I have been in a very long time. My mommy is even feeling more settled. Please keep praying for us both."

Miss Carrington is a total princess. Isn't she beautiful? Here she is in her swing, which she LOVES. She's blown through a set of batteries already! She's been sleeping a lot, too. Which is probably good, right? Do you think she knows that she has finally made it home? Where she is loved? And cared for? And now she can let her guard down a bit?

I think so.

I'm sending out some gift cards to Shelly tonight. I'll continue to send them as long as folks want to contribute. When your child is in the hospital, the last thing you need to think about is what to make for dinner, right?

More updates tomorrow...

  9. Thanks you Steph for keeping us posted on this. I absolutely love your heart for these babies and all you do for them!

And yes, I think the sleep is due to many factors, but mostly she feels loved now and can sleep without worrying about the next bad thing to happen to her or the hunger pains, etc, We all put out growth hormone when we sleep too so maybe now that she has food in her system she can sleep and grow back muscles etc.

She looks good all things considered and thank GOD for the weary mama from way back when who invented the baby swing!

  11. Oh thank you so very much for the update. She is absolutely beautiful. Please continue to lett us know how to pray.

You are so loved Carrington...you have gone from being told you were not valuable...the devil is a liar. You have an army working on your behalf. Your strength is amazing. You are a precious gift from God and we command in the name of Jesus that he take his hand off of you...the word says, resist the devil and he will flee...you are no longer in control of this Childs life.....we are fighting, petitioning, and storming the heavens on her behalf. Thank you Jesus for Carrington. Keep her safe and strengthen her body. Sweet dreams little one. In Jesus name amen
